Inside the Centre
The Fern Centre is a purpose built building designed to promote the wellbeing of cancer patients and their families. It has been designed with a welcoming open plan entrance allowing a cosy comfortable area for you to sit and enjoy a cuppa, spend time with our volunteers, enquire about other services or just relax.
On the right hand side of the building are two complementary therapy rooms designed and furnished to promote relaxation so you can get the best from your therapy sessions.
We also have a large meeting room where the majority of support groups and exercise classes are held.
At the far end of the corridor are two counselling rooms where one to one adult counselling takes place as well as counselling for children.
To the left of our Centre is a small meeting room which can be a quiet area to sit away from the open plan seating area should you need some privacy and will also host our MacMillan financial advice clinics and some pre-counselling sessions.
The Centre also houses three ensuite accommodation rooms which are available to relatives of patients staying at North Devon District Hospital. This accommodation will allow relatives of patients throughout the hospital to stay close by to their loved ones when they need it the most.
