Croyde Ocean Triathlon is back, for its second year on Sunday 3rd July 2016 raising money for the Seamoor (Chemotherapy) Unit Fund. Taking place in and around the stunning area of Croyde, North Devon, this Triathlon with a 1.5km ocean swim, 40km bike and 12km off road run is a course to be reckoned with and certainly not for the faint hearted.

Swim_MediumThe event will kick off with a 1.5km treacherous open-water sea swim at Putsborough Sands before competitors push themselves along a new and gruelling 40km bike route.

The leg has been designed by professional cyclist Chris Green, who marked out the London 2012 Olympic road race course, and will encompass a number of challenging climbs towards Pickwell Manor, Ilfracombe and through Fullabrook Wind Farm.

Once back on the coast, athletes will take on the final leg of the race, a taxing 12km trail run, which is 2km longer than the standard Olympic distance.11467321

The route will include a number of steep descents and inclines and the athletes will make their way down into Croyde, around Down End Point and Baggy Point before dropping bac
k into Putsborough for the finish.
